Welcome to the TorontASIAN, a blog of my experiences as an Asian in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

This is just supposed to be a fun blog meant for entertainment only; it is not supposed to be offensive, racist, generalizing. I am not saying all Asians in Toronto will agree with me, or will have the same experiences.

Feel free to submit your own experiences through the submit page. You don't have to make the graphics; you can just submit in text and I'll make it into graphics, or just submit a longer text post and I'll post it as it is.

Please indicate whether you intend the submission to be a text or graphics submission. All submissions will be anonymous unless stated otherwise.

daiyuu: "omg I love your blog LOL A lot of these things really are true though xD Are you gonna keep updating? :D"
-------

Haha, thank you!

I hope to keep updating but school is keeping me from doing anything remotely, uh, active on Tumblr, so I haven’t had anything up for a while. If you’ve got a few things you’d like to add, feel free to submit them as a text post and I should have the time to make it into a picture for the blog.

Again, thank you ;D

cokeinapepsibottle: "OMG WHERE DID YOU TAKE THAT PICTURE OF THE PENSm that's not One's is it?"
-------

No, it’s actually that 99cent depot/department store thing, that has like..a red font for its sign, I think. There used to be a lot of them but I think the only one left is at the New Century Plaza at Steeles and Victoria Park (the plaza with Grotto Noodle).

The pens are cuter than One’s but I don’t think their quality is as good (although the quality of One’s pencils aren’t that great either lol).

And it doesn’t matter if you don’t know your way around Yorkdale; you manage to find Ten Ren’s stand straight away…

I have nothing against weeaboos (because learning about a different culture and enjoying it is wonderful) or cosplayers (I love cosplaying), but it’s really awkward and kind of…insulting to the Chinese (well, I guess Asian)-Canadian culture. I’m not talking about lolitas or himes or whatever, because that’s like a style/lifestyle, the same as punk or goth. I’m talking about I-look-to-the-left-and-see-Akatsuki-people-clustering-around-a-bbt-place. Is this really what the Asian culture boils down to? Just anime? Unless, of course, if someone dresses like an anime character all the time—but that’s more like, “anime-style” clothes. Cosplay is cosplay, not fashion.
